Greg Merle For US Congress 6th District Michigan
It's all about the money.......your money. If you want more government intrusion and handouts, you might have better luck at the Upton or Cooney website.
Greg is a Pharmaceutical Representative and part time Salsa DJ with no long-term ambition to be in politics. He considers himself “a guy next door” and is very satisfied with his life and present employment. He does however state that, "If the people of Southwestern Michigan ask me to represent them in Washington, not only would I consider it an honor but I will head to Washington to give my all for my constituents. I would add that if the people of Southwestern Michigan send me to Washington, they could relax knowing I will not support more useless government programs or bailouts. No one can solve your problems better or faster than you."
Greg realized, early in his campaign, that accepting contributions might place him in a position that could in the future, require repayment of sorts, therefore Greg refuses ALL campaign contributions. He did not decide on this lightly, it is because he is serious about his message and about representing his constituents and not the businesses that wanted to put money into his coffer.
Greg feels career politicians are a big part of the problem and he would be the first to say that while his opponents might be more experienced that does not make him any less qualified. "At this time, in the history of our country, we find ourselves with an elitist radical with a fondness for Karl Marx and Black Nationalism running for President. Therefore, I say there has never been a time more urgent than now for us to ensure we add resistance to that possible candidacy.”
Greg has long held Right leaning Libertarian viewpoints. He believes strongly in the free market and wants to reestablish a stricter interpretation of the US Constitution. He’s willing to go to Washington to fight liberal, non-linear thinking and to bring to an end the foolish consequences we have suffered because of their years of leadership, or more precisely lack of leadership. In addition, Greg looks forward to confronting those known as RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) who are fearful of standing on principle and who refuse to fight for the American taxpayer and his hard-earned dollars.
Greg attended Central Michigan University and served as a Reservist in the United States Marine Corps. He has served as President of Kappa Alpha Psi (Social Fraternity), Sigma Delta Pi (Honors Fraternity) and Masonic lodge #33. Greg attended the Detroit Metropolitan Police Academy.
